Grape Factory is a fictional vineyard and winery in the state of California. The brand produces five different kinds of grape breads and makes wine. For the purpose of this project, I was in charge of designing a logo, a stationary system, the label for the wine bottles, graphic communication, the design of the annual report and finally a design manual explaining the logo and brand guidelines.

The Grape Factory logo is the most immediate representation of the company and brand to the world. Fun, fresh and modern is the image we want to project, hence the bright colors and rounded shape in the logo. We want the target audience to feel and have a pleasant experience when  choosing our brand, when opening the bottle, drinking our wine and having a great time at a gathering with friends.

The idea behind the logo is quite literal: the purple cog symbolizes the industrial force of the factory making more, yet better wine. The magenta circle inside the cog is a very abstract form of the grape, being crowned by the vine leaf on top of it. The word mark uses the same typeface for consistency, but uses different weights to keep the word mark dynamic and only caps for the second word to give balance, given that the word “grape” is on a very bold weight.
